Redraft Evaluation

How did your redraft go? Is your novel on track for publication?
Fee: £300/ $400
Duration: 5 days (approx)

A redraft evaluation tells you what stage your manuscript is at without the need of a second extensive edit. Having already read your manuscript at least once, it's time to read it again following all the hard work you have done since your initial edit or manuscript appraisal. I will assess your amendments and guide you on where to focus your creative energies for your next redraft, or offer any final points to consider before moving forward to publication.

Includes:

  • Evaluating any amendments to your original manuscript.

  • Checking for any remaining inaccuracies or errors.

  • Advising restructuring or rewriting if necessary.

  • Assessing your manuscript's suitability for publication.

How it works:

Head to BOOK EDITORIAL SERVICES to request a time-slot. Once confirmed by deposit I will ask you to submit your manuscript electronically by email to olivia.maclean@calloftheword.com. Please submit all manuscripts in a word doc format to allow for electronic editing. After the agreed time (based on word count and availability) you will receive an edited copy of your redraft by email. I will also send you a progress report halfway through the service, and you are very welcome to get in touch with questions, or schedule a consultancy call while the edit is taking place.

Fee:

A 20% deposit is due to confirm all editorial services. Once your time-slot has been agreed I will send you an invoice for 20% of the service fee which must be paid before the agreed start date. Payment is accepted in GBP and USD and can be made by bank transfer or PayPal. All necessary details for payment will be included with your invoice. The remainder of the fee is due upon completion of the service and a final invoice for the remaining fee will be emailed to you followed by your edited manuscript.

What Next?

Your redraft evaluation is complete. At this stage you will probably have corrections or amendments to make based on my response. You may need to redraft a second, or a third time to get your novel right where it should be, but you have a clear direction for this and you have the opportunity to explore different versions of your story as you do so. The decision to move forward to publication is always yours. I'm ready when you are.
