The Full House Editorial Package

Everything you need from your editor to prepare for publication.

The Full House package includes all things editorial required to get your novel out into the world. You'll receive a manuscript appraisal, and substantive edit to get your manuscript up to speed. Take time to redraft your novel, then I'll evaluate your hard work. Book up to three consultancy calls to help keep you on track throughout the process. As your editor, I'll take this journey with you, from your first edit to your final draft, and all the milestones in between. Don't just be a writer...become an author!

Manuscript Appraisal

  • Editorial feedback on your plot, characterisation and standard of writing.

  • Highlighting strengths and weaknesses in your work.

  • Constructive criticism and suggestions or techniques for improvements.

  • Assessing the suitability of your manuscript for the genre and audience

  • Evaluating the marketability of your novel.

Substantive Edit 

  •  Assessment of your characterisation, structure, pace, plot, narrative point of view and language.

  • Advising restructuring or rewriting where appropriate.

  • Checking for inconsistencies in your manuscript and offering possible solutions.

  • Ensuring sense, content flow, consistency and accuracy.

  • General editorial feedback and advice.

Editorial Consultancy Call (up to three hours included in package)

  • A one-on-one with your editor.

  • Targeted editorial feedback and advice.

  • Useful techniques and suggestions for your writing process.

  • Committed support and guidance.

Redraft Evaluation

  • Evaluating any amendments to your original manuscript.

  • Checking for any remaining inaccuracies or errors.

  • Advising restructuring or rewriting if necessary. 

  • Assessing your manuscript's suitability for publication.

How it works: 

The Full House package starts with an initial editorial consultancy call via Skype (30 mins), to get to know each other and find out more about your journey to publication. Head to BOOK EDITORIAL SERVICES to request a start date. Once confirmed by deposit I will send a short questionnaire to be completed before your call. Together we will plan a schedule for your manuscript appraisal and substantive edit. I will ask you to submit your manuscript electronically by email to olivia.maclean@calloftheword.com. Please submit all manuscripts in a word doc format to allow for electronic editing. Your redraft evaluation and further consultancy calls are up to you and there are no expiration dates on these services - whenever you're ready! 

 

Fee:

A 20% deposit is due to confirm all editorial services. Once your initial editorial consultancy call has been agreed I will send you an invoice for 20% of the service fee which must be paid before the agreed start date. Payment is accepted in GBP and USD and can be made by bank transfer or PayPal. A 50% payment is due following your manuscript appraisal and substantive edit. All necessary details for payment will be included with your invoice. The remainder of the fee is due upon completion of the service and a final invoice for the remaining fee will be emailed to you following your redraft evaluation.

What Next?

Congratulations! You've come through the hardest part. You still have publication, sales and promotion to worry about, but you are now the proud author of a fantastic novel that shines with your full writing potential. You may wish to send your manuscript to a proofreader or styler for a final polish, and then it's time to let your words escape into the world and celebrate. I'll be here with you at the final chapter to rejoice in your success and perhaps compare plans for your next great novel...
